What is gamerscore you ask? Well Microsoft and XBOX in their infinite wisdom (<sarcasm>) decided that it would give players a way to measure their apparent NERD CRED by affixing a number to your gamertag. This number is supposed to relate to others your AWESOMENESS. Well, once I got my own Elite system…I was bitten by the bug. Just ask my long suffering fiance, my gs hunting reached a crazy frenzied level. I was consumed with the need to increase my score. I kept telling myself (much like an alcoholic or junkie fiendin for that next hit) when I get to this number, I’ll calm down. No when I get to this number I’ll stop. Well, sadly, that did not really happen. First it was 5000, then it was 10000, and then I swore that 20k was going to see me really slow down because I was enjoying my gaming less and less. Not to mention the fact that my fiance decided that I was hopeless and that he wanted no parts of this gamerscore addiction that had me plotting which games I would play and how I would play them to best maximize my gamerscore. Well, in under a year, I managed 20k gamerscore. Yay me! And I did slow down for a while and then I noticed that hey, I can probably make 25k before the year is out. And so this is my quest now, to get approximately 400 points before year’s end. I’m sure I can do it easily but I wonder where my gamerscore whoring will end. At least I can say, that there are some games that I will not play no matter what or how easy it is to achieve gs. I am very happy to say that I managed a full 1000 in
&
I’m also heading towards 1000 in
(I have 875 now, fingers crossed on this one as I have to play it through 2 times and have already played the game 3x thru).
Maybe it’s time to start a GS Anonymous chapter. I wonder if MS/Xbox will sponsor us. I wonder if I can sue them and get some $$$. I’m not kidding–It’s a RECESSION!!
